7 Elements of Project-Based Learning

1. Driving Question: How are lives of students in other countries similar and/or different than those of U.S. students?

2. Need to Know: Students ask questions and get answers from their Spanish and technology teachers as the project progresses.

3. Inquiry and Innovation: Students are creating a product to address a need for bilingual exploration and recognition.

4. Student Voice and Choice: Students decide the story line, conduct the interviews, select the images and publishing choices.

5. Feedback and Revision: Students rely on their teachers, peers and group members throughout the project for advise on edits needed, layout changes and best publishing options.

6. 21st Century Skills: Communication, cooperation, organization, and coordinating are essential skills to complete the project.

7. Outside Audience: The finished newsletter is published and distributed to students in the school.
